Each of our pellet grills come with a P Setting button to control the smoke and the rate that the pellets come out of the hopper in the grill. This setting ranges from 0-7. Ideally, the best smoking temperature is 180 degrees. Put the P Setting on 4, and it should be at 180 degrees. This can change with the outside temperature. If it's not at 180, raise or lower the P Setting until you reach 180 or your preferred smoking temperature. It's best to check this setting as the seasons change.
Before using your pellet grill for the first time, you will need to season the inside. Start by filling the hopper with pellets and then remove all of the inside components and racks from the grill body and set aside. Next you will rub the inside walls of the grill body with a thin layer of lard. Lastly, crank the grill heat up to high and leave covered for 1-hour.
- For easier cleanup, line the drip tray with tinfoil and replace every 3-4 uses.
- Vacuum out grill body occasionally
- Clean grates before use
All of our grills are made with 1/4 inch steel which increases the temperature consistency and results in less pellet consumption. You won't have issues with hot spots and food will be cooked more consistently.
After using your Anchor grill, make sure to keep the pellet hopper closed to prevent pellets from getting wet. It is recommended to keep the grill out of the rain for this reason.
If you want a true Texas-pit style grill we've got you covered!
